Product details

The Magpul MIAD GEN 1.1 is a modular pistol grip kit for AR-15 and M4 pattern lower receivers, fitting on the existing grip screw.

The Magpul MIAD GEN 1.1 Grip Kit Type 1 (MAG520) is a modular grip system: interchangeable front straps and back straps let you tune girth, trigger reach and palm swell until the grip fits your hand — not the average of everyone else's. For shooters between glove sizes, or households where one rifle serves several shooters, few grips solve the problem this cleanly.

The MIAD's removable core also converts the grip interior into secure storage — batteries, spare parts or a firing-pin retaining pin can live in the rifle itself. Construction is Magpul's reinforced polymer with TSP texture, so the fitted result is as durable and grippy as it is personal.

Key Features

  • Interchangeable front & back straps: tune girth and trigger reach precisely
  • Fits your hand, not the average: genuine custom ergonomics
  • Removable storage core: keep essentials inside the rifle
  • Reinforced polymer with TSP texture: Magpul durability throughout
  • Three finishes: Black, Flat Dark Earth, Olive Drab Green

Compatibility & Fitment

A drop-in replacement for a standard AR-15/M4 pistol grip, using the existing grip screw location on the lower receiver — no modification to the receiver is involved. If your rifle is not an AR-pattern lower, check the grip interface first. Fit the straps that suit your hand, mount the grip, and swap straps any time your setup changes; no gunsmithing required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this grip fit my rifle?
It's a drop-in replacement for a standard AR-15/M4 pistol grip, so it uses the existing grip screw location on the lower receiver. No modification to the receiver is involved. If your rifle isn't an AR pattern, check the grip interface first or ask us before you buy.

What makes the MIAD a kit rather than just a grip?
It comes with interchangeable front and back straps, so you can change the size and shape of the grip to suit your hand rather than accept one fixed profile. Shooters with larger hands can build it out, while smaller hands can slim it down. That means one grip can be tuned rather than replaced if it doesn't feel right first time.

Is there storage in the grip?
Yes, the grip has a removable core, so the cavity can be used to carry small items in the grip rather than in a pocket. The core lifts out for access and clips back in. Nothing else is needed to use it beyond what's supplied in the kit.

Which color, and how do I decide against a fixed-shape grip?
Black, Flat Dark Earth and Olive Drab Green are all offered. If you already know the grip angle and girth that suits you, a fixed grip is simpler; the MIAD earns its place when you want to experiment or when the rifle is shared.
