The Geissele SSA-E is an enhanced two-stage trigger for AR-15 and M4 pattern rifles, fitting Mil-Spec lower receivers that use .154 in trigger and hammer pins.

The Geissele Super Semi-Automatic Enhanced (SSA-E, 05-160) takes the SSA architecture and reworks the geometry for a lighter, cleaner second stage — a break Geissele's own shooters describe as a glass rod snapping. The result is a two-stage trigger that keeps the SSA's safety margin while rewarding deliberate precision work: target rifles, long-range builds and any AR-15 asked to hit small things a long way off.

Like every Geissele, the SSA-E is machined and finished to tolerances that keep the pull consistent for the life of the rifle, ships non-adjustable with nothing to drift, and runs full-power springs for dependable ignition.

Key Features

  • Enhanced lighter second stage — a very crisp, clean break
  • Two-stage discipline — prep the take-up, commit with precision
  • Full-power ignition springs — dependable primer strikes
  • Non-adjustable consistency — the same pull, round after round

Compatibility & Fitment

Drop-in fit for AR-15/M4 pattern lower receivers with Mil-Spec .154 in trigger and hammer pins. Large-pin receivers are not compatible — confirm your pin size before ordering. Installation is armorer-level work; complete function and safety checks before live fire.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the SSA-E fit my lower receiver?
It is a drop-in two-stage for AR-15/M4 pattern lowers using mil-spec trigger pins. Non-standard or large-pin receivers will not accept it, so confirm your pin size before you order. If the lower is an unfamiliar brand, get in touch with the details and we'll check for you.

What does the Enhanced part of SSA-E mean in practice?
The SSA-E is the lightened, refined version of the SSA: the break is light and exceptionally crisp, aimed at precision and marksmanship rather than hard-use service work. You still get a distinct two-stage feel, with a take-up stage before a defined wall. It is one of the most popular choices for a DMR or accuracy-focused AR build.

Should I choose the SSA-E or the standard SSA?
Go for the SSA if the rifle is a working carbine and you want the heavier, more forgiving pull; go for the SSA-E if you want the lighter, crisper break for deliberate shooting. Both share the same two-stage architecture and curved-style bow. Neither is adjustable, so the weight you buy is the weight you get.

Is anything else required to install it?
No, it uses your existing standard trigger and hammer pins provided they are serviceable, and there are no shims or springs to fit. Function-check the rifle thoroughly after installation, including safety operation, before live firing.
