Product details

The Reptilia DOT Mount is a one-piece Picatinny optic mount for the Trijicon MRO, placing the optical axis 1.93in (49 mm) above the rail.

The lightest mount in Reptilia's 1.93in DOT range at 1.6 oz (45 g), cut for one optic and set at one height.

Reptilia machines the 1.93in MRO mount from billet 7075-T6 aluminum and finishes it in Milspec Type III hard anodizing. It attaches to any M1913 Picatinny rail and carries a nitrided 4140 steel clamp, with mounting screws and a hex key in the box.

The MRO's wide 25 mm objective is one of the easier red dots to pick up quickly, and at 1.93in it sits where your eye already is with your head upright. On an AR-15, that means the same head position on every mount of the rifle, which is what makes a fast first shot repeatable rather than lucky. Made in the USA.

Key Features

  • Optical axis at 1.93in (49 mm): Head-up shooting position with clearance for a helmet or night vision
  • Cut for the Trijicon MRO: One footprint, mounted direct, with no adapter plate under the optic
  • 1.6 oz (45 g): The lightest of Reptilia's 1.93in DOT Mounts
  • Billet 7075-T6 aluminum: Milspec Type III hard anodized, with a nitrided 4140 steel clamp
  • Fitting kit included: Mounting screws and a hex key come in the box

Compatibility & Fitment

Fits the Trijicon MRO, on any M1913 Picatinny rail including the flat-top upper of an AR-15. Footprint and height are both fixed: MRO footprint, 1.93in optical axis. Standard AR-15 back-up iron sights do not co-witness at this height — for that, Reptilia makes a 39mm lower 1/3 MRO DOT Mount. An Aimpoint Micro or ACRO uses a different footprint and will not fit this mount.

What's Included

  • DOT Mount
  • Mounting screws

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it fit the MRO and the MRO HD?
Reptilia lists this mount for the Trijicon MRO. The MRO family shares one mounting interface across the range, but if you are running a specific variant it is worth checking the base of your optic against Trijicon's own specification before ordering, because a mount cut for one footprint cannot be shimmed to fit another.

Why is it lighter than the other 1.93in mounts?
The MRO's mounting interface needs less material around it than an ACRO or RMR pattern does, so the same 1.93in height comes out at 45 g rather than 55 to 60 g. It is the same billet 7075-T6 aluminum and the same clamp design; there is simply less of it.

What height are my irons at?
At 1.93in, standard AR-15 back-up iron sights fall below the optic window, so they will not appear as a co-witness. If you want them in view, the 39mm lower 1/3 MRO mount is the version that gives you that. The two are separate products and neither converts into the other.

How tight should the clamp be?
Reptilia does not publish a torque figure for the DOT Mount, so we will not invent one. Fit it firmly with the supplied hex key, confirm the mount does not move on the rail by hand, and check your zero after the first range session as you would with any Picatinny mount that has just gone on.
