Athlon Ares vs Midas vs Cronus: Which Line?

Three riflescopes of increasing size arranged in a row

Athlon Optics organizes its riflescopes into tiers, and understanding the ladder makes it easy to buy the right level for your budget and use.

Midas: strong mid-tier value

The Midas line is Athlon's value-precision tier — genuinely good glass, first-focal-plane options and precision turrets at a mid-range price. For most shooters building a capable rig without going premium, Midas is the sweet spot.

Ares: a step up in glass and features

The Ares line moves up in optical quality and feature set, with higher-end glass and refined turrets aimed at serious hunting and precision use. It is the choice when you want more performance than Midas but not flagship pricing.

Cronus: the flagship

Cronus is Athlon's top tier — their best glass (ED/UHD), the most robust builds, and the feature sets built for serious long-range and competition. Expect the highest clarity and the highest price.

Which line is right?

Match the tier to your use and budget: Midas for value precision and hunting, Ares for a step up, Cronus for flagship long-range performance. All share Athlon's lifetime warranty.
